Ever wonder what Ottawa looked like, say, 50 or 100 years ago?

Ottawa Past and Present has an enormous library of images that juxtapose Ottawa of the past (from images pulled from the Archives of Canada) with Ottawa of the present (photos taken for the blog), letting you see just what’s changed for yourself.

Sadly, after perusing the gallery you begin to see a trend — that a lot of historically interesting buildings have been torn down and replaced by characterless office complexes and bland planned park spaces.
